The Naturally Reared Stud Dog

Excerpt from the new book Natural Rearing: Breeding & Raising Dogs The Way Nature Intended: “The naturally reared stud dog has one of the most serious impacts on the breed, due to the fact that the he can be used daily and produce many puppies. The management and matching of prospective bitches must be handled with the utmost care. You should never breed your stud dog to inferior or mediocre quality females. You should only breed him to health tested, quality bitches of sound structure, with a researched pedigree and superior quality as measured to the standard for your breed. Of course ultimately, if your stud dog has been naturally reared on a totally raw, carnivore specific diet and has not been vaccinated, he will be in high demand for other natural rearing breeders who desire breeding to their own NR bitches. Ideally, you would breed him mainly to other naturally reared bitches. However, if he is a structurally sound and a quality representation of his breed, conventional rearing breeders will seek him out as well.”  Natural Rearing: Breeding & Raising Dogs The Way Nature Intended by Jeanette (Jeannie) Thomason VND
