While most traditional harnesses can actually encourage dogs to pull harder because of the “opposition reflex.” (That’s the reflex that makes sled dogs do what they do), the Walk In Sync harness is designed to gently and effectively train the dog not to pull.
I have to admit I was a bit skeptical of using a harness on one my dogs as being show dogs they were trained to be just a little bit outside of a true “heel” position but never to pull. I decided to try the Walk In Sync harness out on my retired champion – Joey; that has always loved to move out in the ring and would at times pull on the lead to move even faster. I put the harness on him and we went for a little brisk walk, he was staying right in position without pulling at all! I decided to go a little faster and I broke into a slow jog which usually would excite Joey, he picked up the pace and began to move a little further away from me but almost instantly fell right back into position! No pulling what so ever and the lovely teal color harness looked gorgeous against his brindle coat!
I totally approve of and recommend this harness and agree with part of the companies Philosophy; that this harness/training system trains “your dog in a loving, nurturing, pain free way so that your lifelong relationship thrives”.
