Discover the Benefits or Earthing or Grounding For Our Dogs
Over the centuries, dogs have come to spend much more time indoors. Where they once worked, ate and slept on the ground being in constant contact with the earth, they were much healthier and lived well into their twenties.
While we have changed their diet to suit our convenience and began to expose them to toxins and vaccinations, the fact that the majority of dogs today are kept indoors for the major part of their lives has deprived them not only of the sunshine and fresh air they need to thrive but rarely are they able to spend much time standing, lying or running in the sand, dirt, grass, etc. Is it any wonder that more and more each year our companion animals are being diagnosed with the same major health disorders that we humans have?
Dogs, like us, are bioelectrical beings whose bodies function electrically.
The Earth is an electrical planet, vibrating with healthy frequencies and a slight negative surface charge required for a healthy immune system. The word “negative” in this context means an abundance of electrons that can move quickly and reduce charge. Emerging science has revealed how direct contact with the ground allows dogs (and, of course, humans and other animals) a life-giving energy infusion.
If your dogs are house dogs or kenneled most of the day, they will truly benefit from being outside for forty to sixty minutes touching the earth every day.
As you may already know or perhaps have read in many of my articles or books, the body and its countless systems all naturally function, first and foremost electrically.
For example, the heart beats by virtue of electrical impulses, and nerve impulses make possible for voluntary and involuntary movements. The trillions of cells we and our animals are made up of march to the beat of particular frequencies as they are forever transmitting and receiving bioelectrical energy in communication with the extra-cellular environment around them. Naturally occurring electric fields regulate the movement of nutrients and waste products in and out of them, as well as regulating cell division and healing. We and our dogs are a bioelectrical beings!
Science reveals that direct contact with the ground allows (us) and our dogs to receive an energy infusion.
This energy infusion has proven to be quite powerful:
- It restores and stabilizes the bioelectrical circuitry that governs the physiology and organs,
- harmonizes the body’s biological rhythms,
- boosts self-healing mechanisms,
- reduces inflammation and pain,
- improves sleep and creates a feeling of calmness.
Interesting Information Regarding Grounding and Inflammation
Inflammation is something that we hear talked about a lot, it has come to the forefront of medical attention and has been recognized as a leading underlying trigger of most major health disorders, including chronic pain, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, arthritis, and cancer. “All roads to chronic disease lead through inflammation” Lee DF, Hung MC. All roads lead to m-TOR: integrating inflammation and tumor angiogenesis. Cell Cycle. 2007;6:3011-3014
As mentioned above, one of the major benefits of Grounding/Earthing is that it appears to assuage inflammation through the transfer of negatively charged electrons from the surface of the Earth into the body (where the electrons neutralize positively charged destructive free radicals involved in chronic inflammation). cells thrive and function in a natural and supportive environment. Disrupted pulsation occurs when cells contract in response to unhealthy metabolic, environmental, or even emotional stimuli. Efficiency becomes compromised and, because cells here and there affect cells elsewhere, a domino reaction occurs and health suffers as a result. “grounding an organism produces measurable differences in the concentrations of white blood cells, cytokines, and other molecules involved in the inflammatory response.Dogs, being domesticated descendents of wolves were naturally designed to be in constant contact with the earth”. The effects of grounding (earthing) on inflammation, the immune response, wound healing, and prevention and treatment of chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases Published online 2015 Mar 24. dos: 10.2147/JIR.S69656
I hope you will try going barefoot with your dog in the damp grass or sand, and experience the healing frequencies of the earth together.
