Product Review Super Power Bars

Super Power Bar Review I was again honored to be asked to review a couple of products from ONLY NATURAL PET. One the products was a package of two of their Super Power Bars. My two senior citizen Boston Terriers LOVED these!   I would have given one to one of the Poodles to try as well but I worried they may try to swallow most of it whole.  That is the ONLY thing I was not happy about the Super Power Bar – They are only sized appropriately for smaller dogs. These wonderful and healthy chews are made from 100% all natural, grass fed...

Our Dogs Are The Choices We Make

Have you ever considered that with every choice we make in life, we are participating in the  very creation of what our life will be?  This applies to our companion animals as well since we must make the choices for them every day they are with us. Our Dogs Are The Choices We Make We are always faced with choices, every day, all day, every month, every year.  The choices we make for our Dogs (as well as for ourselves) are of vital importance as to what kind of  physical and emotional health and life they will have.  We have choices as to:...

Scented Candles Are Harmful!

Tis the season to bring out the scented candles and wax melts to fill the house with the smell of Fall and the upcoming holidays.  However, this year, I would like to invite you stop for just a minute before all the rush and stress of preperation begins to think twice about using scented candles or wax melts this year.  I know, I know, they smell good to you, they remind you of seasons and holidays gone by.  But please know just how harmful and toxic they are and that there are safe, natural alternatives you can use to fill your home with...

More Ideas and Information on Sensory Gardens

You may remember me writing a few articles on enrichment for our dogs earlier this year, I wrote about and shared what I had learned about Sensory or Snuffle gardens with you.   https://thewholedog.com/sensory-snuffle-garden/ While doing some research for future articles and my NR Puppy book this morning, I came across an online UK dog magazine that featured an article on sensory gardens for dogs.  There are some nice photos of at least one sensory garden to help you better envision what you can do....

Heartworms True Natural Prevention

Heartworms True Natural Prevention

Heartworms –  True Natural Prevention True natural prevention of heartworms (or any other foreign invader to the body) is ultimately done by improving, boosting and maintaining a strong, healthy internal environment (immune system), true prevention is not using artificial means and toxic man made products. We have been indoctrinated to believe that we need to kill and destroy all pests, parasites, viruses and microbes before they kill us and our companion animals.  This is a totally wrong way to think. What we need to focus on is the...

Itchy Skin and Ear Infections in Dogs

Itchy Skin and Ear Infections In Dogs Are Among the Top Reasons, They are Taken to a Veterinarian.   A naturopathic/holistic approach to itchy skin, ear infections, allergies, etc. can restore your dog to optimal health. Does your dog  appear to be scratching, itching and chewing on themselves often? Does Your dog have reoccurring ear infections, yeast outbreaks or hot spots? Are you tired of trying veterinary prescribed steroids, antibiotics, medicated shampoos and ear cleaners only to have the itching skin and ear infections return not...

Brain Games For Dogs That Increase Intelligence and More

Brain Games and Complex Environments Increase Intelligence in Dogs Proven fact: The brains of animals that have lived in a changing or varied and more complex environment actually become larger than dogs who don’t. New connections develop between existing neurons in the cortex as a result of varied experiences. Recent evidence demonstrates that it is even possible to grow new neural cells in important areas of the brain that are associated with learning, memory and the organization of behavior. We can actually change the physiology of...

Grounding or Earthing Required For Healthy Canine Immune System

Dogs, like us, are bioelectrical beings whose bodies function electrically. The Earth is an electrical planet, vibrating with healthy frequencies and a slight negative surface charge required for a healthy immune system. The word “negative” in this context means an abundance of electrons that can move quickly and reduce charge. Emerging science has revealed how direct contact with the ground allows dogs (and, of course, humans and other animals) a life-giving energy infusion. As you may already know or perhaps have read in many of my articles...

The Dog’s Nose And Emotions

What Does a Dog’s Nose Have To Do With Their Emotions? A dog’s nose dominates his brain; In fact the part of the brain dedicated to scent is forty times greater in a dog than in a human. As you have read in my series the Dog’s Nose Knows, the dog’s brain is literally built by and around the information it recieves from scents. The sense of scent or smell is very closely linked to emotions.  What this means is that the dog’s emotional experience may be even greater than we have ever imagined. Have you ever smelled something...
