ARKANSAS PASSES NEW RABIES LAW–3 Year Law to be Set!

It is amazing to me how many states are still requiring rabies vaccinations to given yearly! Although it has been proven in France that just one rabies vaccine gives dogs immunity for 7 years and beyond!

Help the Rabies Challenge Fund prove this to be true to our U.S. government so we don’t have to subject our beloved animals to being over vaccinated with the most dangerous of all vaccines when it comes to side effects.

ARKANSAS PASSES NEW RABIES LAW–3 Year Law to be Set!

The Arkansas House (91-5) and Senate (35-0) passed a new rabies law authorizing the State Health Department to establish rabies vaccination schedules http://www.arkleg.state.ar.us/assembly/2009/R/Pages/BillInformation.aspx?measureno=HB1274 which will result in a 3 year rabies protocol for Arkansas dogs and cats.

“The senate also gave final legislative approval to House Bill 1274 by Rep. Pam Adcock, D-Little Rock, which would modernize the state’s rabies vaccination laws. Under the bill, rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats would be required every three years, rather than every year under current law.”

  1. Dr. Jeannie;
    FYI: Arkansas has not changed officially to a three year rabies vaccination program. Read HB 159 closer. You will find it is still an annual vaccination or “as required by the State Board of Health”. Currently the SBH says it is to be given annually. I visited with a representative with the Ark. VMA and found out that the Ark. State Board of Health IS putting together a committee to study whether to switch to the three year vaccine. But, the rabies requirement for Arkansas is still an annual rabies vaccination.
