Hartz Mountian is recalling nearly 75000 bags of beef treats for dogs over fears of salmonella.
September 3, 2010 – The Hartz Mountain Corporation is voluntarily recalling one specific lot of Hartz Naturals Real Beef Treats for Dogs due to concerns that one or more bags within the lot may have been potentially contaminated with Salmonella. Hartz is fully cooperating with the US Food and Drug Administration in this voluntary recall.
I hope you are all seeing how many COOKED products are being recalled for fear of salmonella contamination. If your pet were to get salmonella from eating a cooked treat or kibble food, could he/she then pass it on to you or your elderly parents or grandparents?
